It is double terminated, the only DT crystal in the entire parcel. Tanzanite almost always grows attached at one end, so a crystal that terminates naturally on both ends is seriously rare. A long, elegant blade with crisp striations running the full length and natural terminations on both top and bottom. No break, no attachment point, no damage. It grew this way in the pocket and came out intact.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eClarity:\u003c\/strong\u003e Mostly clean, with wide open windows through the body and some natural character worked into the lower section. The faces are bright and sharp, picking up light cleanly along the whole blade.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eColor:\u003c\/strong\u003e Achroic through the body with a lovely icy blue cast, deepening toward the crown. Laser purple face on, clean blue from the side, and under an LED screen the pleochroism runs purple to blue with gold flashing through.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eTreatment:\u003c\/strong\u003e Completely unheated and untreated.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eDouble terminated tanzanite is a genuine rarity on its own. Add an achroic body, strong clarity and this luster, and you have a piece that stands by itself.
